Antonia’s Flowers: sea salt never smelled so good.
Like a great pair of espadrilles, nothing can finish off an outfit for your day out like perfume. Evoking emotional responses like nothing else, perfume creates a signature of how we are remembered, stimulates memories of times past, and inspires interest between casual acquaintances (or even strangers in an elevator!).
We’ve tried oh-so-many perfumes in our quest for the qualities we regard in good perfume: subtle, but expressive, notes; unusual, but not too quirky or alien; lush and evocative, for days when we’re ready to conquer the world.
Antonia’s Flowers is a small, family run business located out of East Hampton, NY, and is the dream child of Antonia Bellanca, a retired florist. She teamed up with perfumer Bernard Chant to design her signature scent Antonia’s Flowers, and has been adding slowly and thoughtfully to her collection ever since.
Her efforts paid off with Sogni Del Mare, which is an aquatic floral-fruity fragrance with notes of rhubarb, cassis, bergamont and orange. Upon first scent, it’s a breath of sea salty air–totally refreshing, but not aggressive or headache inducing. A total departure from Tempe Passate, Floret and her signature scent, Sogni Del Mare evokes fresh oceanic air with a hint of trees. Perfect for the woman that doesn’t want to smell like a floral bouquet or anything foody, and is comfortable with a little androgynous glamor.
Those of you that prefer florals, check out her other scents–they receive rave reviews on both makeupalley and Now Smell This and are worthy of a sniff. You can receive a plethora of samples from Antonia’s Flowers (edts AND edps) for only $5 USD and you get $5 off your full sized purchase, should you love what you sniff. Check it out!
